sorry for the delay

I'm into my third week of vacation hahaha. the trip was alright, i slept for most of the emirates flight. i only watched 2 movies and had an empty seat next to me. the 8 hour layover in dubai was alright since i found another lady to talk to, i listened to her life story and looked at her pictures. the ariana flight was a bit longer than i could handle, and ive already told a few of you about the lady who ate butter straight from the container. so since ive been here we have had a few hours of electricity to wash some clothes and watch an indian drama. my bed is comfy, im not sleeping on rocks anymore. and the bathroom situation is something i will just have to get used to. i left for pakiland yesterday and am at my uncle's house now. on the journey here we were asked for money by the police twice. and while driving through the mountains in a rickety old taxi cab, the driver pointed out another cab that had crashed and gone over the edge. he casually mentioned that the driver of that other cab had not survived. . . . umm, it was in pieces. needless to say it did not make me feel safer stuffed between other random people and smelling nasty cigarettes and having my bum go numb from the drive. i crossed the border into more of the same . . . the roads are the same the stores are the same the people look the same and speak the same language (most of these people are afghan refugees). i saw a shell gas station and remembered my kind of civilization. the first two weeks went by so quickly, i had lots of visitors and my brother-in-laws family is wonderful. i havent had to do anything even though i should probably help out once in a while. they even wash my clothes for me. hehe. the only downfall is the electricity. it means that the rooms are dark and that the internet doesnt work properly. i just get to the point where i cant wait for it to load. yes, i know this isnt the states, but i wish it were better than a couple of hours every 5 days.
